 Millions of families in the United States bought the American Dream home during the past 7 years. Purchasers who bought early in the cycle are still in a good position as their homes, on average, have appreciated in value over the past 7 years and they still have equity. However, those purchasers who bought late in the cycle or who did not have a strong balance sheet now find themselves at risk of losing their homes to a foreclosure [ in Canada the term is power of sale; foreclosure refers to legal proceeding where the mortgagee ( the bank or lender) forecloses the right of redemption of the mortgagor and becomes the legal owner of the property subject only to prior encumbrances such as realty taxes that get priority). In 2007 there were in excess of 1.5 million US foreclosures. As of February 26/08 foreclosures increased by 90% in the US. |

Skinhead nation A potpourri of violence-prone racists, anti-Semites and disaffected youth From Montreal to Moscow, the media is full of alarming stories of skinheads heavily tattooed shaved-head youth, bedecked in Nazi symbols - attacking Jews, blacks, Hispanics, Asians, homosexuals and homeless people, whom they perceive as racial enemies. In August two Israelis were hospitalized after being beaten by a group of skinheads at a rock concert in Belgrade, Serbia. They were chanting Auschwitz, Auschwitz and Go to Germany as they attacked us, Jarly Avram one of those assaulted - was reported as saying. No arrests were made. |

Actress bomshell Jerry Hall now joins Bayer and The Journal of the American Medical Association (AMA) to raise awareness of male sexual problems. The AMA states that approximately 1 in 3 males has some form of sexual problem. For men over 50 the percentage is 50%. |
