            From Montreal to Moscow, the media is full of alarming stories of skinheads – heavily tattooed shaved-head youth, bedecked in Nazi symbols - attacking Jews, blacks, Hispanics, Asians, homosexuals and homeless people, whom they perceive as racial enemies.
In August two Israelis were hospitalized after being beaten by a group of skinheads at a rock concert in Belgrade, Serbia. “They were chanting ‘Auschwitz, Auschwitz’ and ‘Go to Germany’ as they attacked us,” Jarly Avram – one of those assaulted - was reported as saying. No arrests were made.

Weiguang Li makes second court appearance; asks judge to be executed

Vince Weiguang Li has been charged with second-degree murder

A man arrested for beheading a fellow passenger on a Greyhound bus in Canada has made his second court appearance. He was remanded for psychiatric assessment. The crown revealed new facts pertaining to the murder and in support of the assessment. Mr. Li is alleged to have cut the nose, one ear and part of the victim's mouth and placed the body parts in a plastic bag which police found on him after his arrest.

Former Chief Justice Antonio Lamer passed away on Saturday at 74, following a few weeks in hospital. He was one of the longest-serving and most influential judges in Canadian history.

Mr. Lamer suffered from heart trouble in recent years. He died on Saturday after several weeks in hospital caused by heart troubles.
