Archbishop Chrysostomos is looking for ways to finance his clergy
The Greek Orthodox Church in Cyprus has announced plans to invest $234m (£115m) in solar energy.

Archbishop Chrysostomos II said the church would build a factory that would make photo-voltaic panels to capture the sun's energy.

He said proceeds from the investment would be used to provide financial help to clergy and fund other social work.

Plans to link Europe to Africa via a tunnel are gathering pace.

The Moroccan government has been holding talks with its Spanish counterparts to start the project, which would consist of a railway beneath the Strait of Gibraltar carrying freight, passengers and cars.

Work is expected to start in 2008.

On 26 April 2005, Canada's oldest, continuously-serving infantry regiment, The Queen's Own Rifles of Canada, celebrated its 145th birthday. What the future will bring for Canadian reserve units -- army, navy or air force -- remains to be seen, but there will unquestionably always be a place in the military establishment for those men and women who serve in such regiments as the Toronto-based Queen's Own Rifles.
