The UN has suspended aid operations in Gaza because its staff have been hit by Israel.

The world community has again condemned Israel for its actions. A friend of Israel stated confidentially, as he did not want to be identified:

"I love Israel. However, I cannot I understand these stupid actions. There is absolutely no justification for these attacks on the UN or civilians under its protection. Israel was founded after the horrors of world war II; accordingly it represented hope for a better world. These attacks undermine support for Israel without any real or lasting improvement in security."

UN run school attacked by Israel 

Attack on United Nations run school kills dozens and injures close to one hundred civilians, the majority young children. This is a black day for the  IDF. The world community is turning against Israel and is demanding an immediate ceasefire to allow aid to flow into Gaza and to allow other civilians, including Canadians and Americans safe passage to their home countries.

Canada defeated Sweden 5-1 in the finals to win its 5th straight World Hockey Jr. Championship. Sweden has now finished 2nd in seven tournaments since last winning a gold. Russia finished 3 and Slovakia took fourth place at this tournament held in Ottawa.

Hundreds of thousands were the first to join in New Year's Eve 2009 Celebrations in Australia, New Zealand and Asia.  Europe was next. North America followed with celebrations in Times Square in New York, the Strip in Las Vegas and City Hall in Toronto. In Toronto, 50,000 attended celebrations.
