Prime Minister Harper begins Arctic Sovereignty tour by first visiting a national treasure, the Nahanni National Park Reserve, which will be expanded to 28,000 square kilometers. Canada is a northern nation with vital interests in the Arctic and accordingly our government should move aggressively to protect our lands from foreign encroachment.
The Canadian military joined the Prime Minister with an important Arctic exercise around the southern tip of Baffin Island. This exercise is named Operaation Nanook and supports are legal and legitimate claims to a large part of the Artic Region. |
