Everyday Rebellion

By: Tomasz Bugajski

Everyday Rebellion, a new and interesting band, is based in Toronto and made up of four members, DANNY - Lead Vocals, Guitar; IGOR - Lead Guitar, Back Vox; MICHAEL – Bass; MAX – Drums.

The band plays a wide variety of music including politically conscious tracks and softer love songs. The bands influences range from The Beatles and Elvis to Nirvana and Radiohead. Their music is fun, energetic and thoughtful. They have been together for only a year but their sound is refined and mature. With a hint of Red Hot Chili Peppers and Nirvana influences their music has an original sound. Danny, who does the lead vocals, and Igor, lead guitar, both perform, covers at a local bar by Bloor and St. George. Recently they played a good set and exited the crowd. Most people who were there that night did not come to see them.

But their stage presence made the small bar feel like their concert. Bar goers who came for a drink stayed for their music. Even though they did not play their own songs Danny and Igor expressed their personalities. They had passion and unless you knew the song you would think it was an original piece. That was why the crowd loved them. Igor, on guitar, would have played a good show by himself. If one has ever seen a good solo guitarist perform you can get a sense of how Igor played. But beside the music both Danny and Igor are nice people.

I had a chance to talk to Danny before his show. I asked him about his music and his plans for the future. On both topics he was optimistic and humble. There was a strong direction in him and his warm personality came through in his performance too. Everyday Rebellion is good music and good people.

Everyday Rebellion is busy. They are working on an album and are constantly performing at different venues. Check out their MySpace page for dates and times.
