The Greek Orthodox Church rocked by scandal The Greek Orthodox Church suspended a senior bishop  amid claims of clergy fixing the outcome of court trials. Allegations have surfaced that some clergymen have tried to influence or bribe judges to win cases for friends, including suspected drug dealers. These allegations have shocked the political, religious and judicial establishments. The public has been asked to assist the government and to report all priests suspected of such activities. Miller wins vote 26-19 and gets two new taxes for the City of Toronto which raise $175 million for 2008. The land transfer tax will rais $175 million and the vehicle tax $20. There is still a projected deficit of $239 which the City must still raise and/or cut waste and services or raise additional funds from other tax sources such as parking lots and realty taxes.
