Main risk factors for cancer

The main risk factors for cancer are:

(i) smoking 30%;

(ii) poor dietary habits 30%;

(iii) obesity and lack of exercise 5%;

(iv) pollution 2%;

(v) UV-ray exposure 2%.

The main risk factors which exceed 65% are factors within our control. If person stops smoking, improves his/her diet and exercises they improve their ability to significantly avoid cancer.

In the case of smoking it is an expensive, vulgar habit that poisons the person without any health benefit whatsoever. Tobacco companies are like drug dealers peddling poison and harmful drugs and killing millions of people every year.

Enoungh is enough! Stop the madness and stop smoking. Second hand smoke should be also made illegal so that the rest of us are not poisoned by the tobacco companies and by people who lack good judgment and discipline.
