Detroit takes home the Stanley Cup PDF Print E-mail

(REUTERS/Shaun Best) Detroit wins the Stanley Cup in game six. Detroit won 3 to 2. Pittsburgh came close to scoring in the final few seconds. Detroit won the finals 4 games to 2.

Pittsburgh lost two home games in the series. Detroit has now passed Toronto for the second  most Stanley Cup wins in NHL history. Montreal still leads with 24 cups, and has about 10 more Stanley cups than Detroit. 

Detroit is also favoured to win the Cup next year. The younger Pittsburgh team also has a bright future and will no doubt be competitive again next year.
