One million people attend pride parade and celebrations in Toronto PDF Print E-mail
Sunday, 29 June 2008

Over one million people came out for the Pride parade and celebrations in Toronto this afternoon. It was a beautiful day. Early this morning dark clouds and a thunderstorm passed over Toronto. The rain stopped around noon time. A beautiful rainbow came out after the rain along the lakeshore. It was a fitting start to the festivities that followed during the day. Jim came in from Niagara Falls with two friends on Thursday. I come out every year. It is only a short one hour drive from the Falls, and I look forward to the event all year long. Sandra and friends came early to watch the parade. The event now attracts families with young kids and has obtained corporate financing. It is becoming more and more mainstream. There is a lot less nudity, for instance. The parties are still a lot of fun but not as wild as the past as many participants have now entered their 40s and 50s.
