Actress and Model Jerry Hall promotes awareness of Male Sexual Problems PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 21 April 2008
Actress bomshell Jerry Hall now joins Bayer and The Journal of the American Medical Association (AMA) to raise awareness of male sexual problems. The AMA states that approximately 1 in 3 males has some form of sexual problem. For men over 50 the percentage is 50%.

"Having sex is completely natural and normal" states Hall. In the past topics such as male erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation received little or no attention. These topics were not openly discussed in the media. Viagra changed all that.

Now male sex problems is big business. World wide sales of Viagra exceed $2.5 billion U.S. Blockbuster drugs produce big profits and gain market share. The stock market also loves the mega blockbuster drugs. In a world of free markets and mass media, big drug companies spend freely. The media are grateful for the extra revenue. In such a world of big profits arising from male sex problems why disappoint shareholders by being embarrassed to publicly discuss topics such as no orgasm, dysfunction delay orgasm, erectile dysfunction and male ejaculation

After all 50% of the population is male and over 33% appear to have a problem, even if they do not think they do. Moreover, why not maintain an erection and delay orgasim if it will increase the pleasure of both partners while improving the GDP? Age and poor health is an important factor in good sex. Naturally, we all slow down in the bedroom after age 50. However, as men live longer and are in generally better health they want to maintain a good sex life. Even men in their 70s still want lots of sex (the heart is willing but the body is often unable).

A little pill is a lot easier then non-drug intervention, such as therapy and behavioural changes. In the future we will explore these alternatives and see how effective they are in comparison to the little pills that generate big profits.
