Independent producers are creating tens of thousands of downloadable radio programs. They are bypassing governmental regulation and the mega firms that presently dominate the industry. Podcasting is part of the larger world movement of blogs which now includes millions of personal web pages.

In the future we will bring you several podcasts, starting in September 2006 with Powder from California. E-mail us your suggestions for future podcasts and you could win a trip to California to meet Powder.

Podcasting empowers the listener. It allows you to download the music and programs you want to listen to, when you want them, and without the commercials. It also allows individuals to create their own programs. Large corporations such BusinessWeek are joining in. They add extra legitamcy to this phenomenon while providing corporate capital and management depth to this new evolving industry.
