by Stacey Mantzioris,

I left London yesterday - we stayed there from Saturday on and managed
to see pretty much everything I wanted to see during that time.  There
are so many places to visit it was pretty overwhelming but I think my
favorite thing was the Tower of London.

The tube wasn't bad either,
but I don't think it counts as an official sight.  Buckingham Palace
was really impressive, except that the water in the fountains was
actually semi-solid from green moss and some kind of lichen.  Really
gross.  We walked through Hyde Park, as well as St. James' Park, and
since my flip-flops had lacerated my feet by that point, I had to take
my shoes off which I don't think the British approved of.  I cared
deeply at that point.

Other highlights included a boat tour down the river Thames, standing
over the Prime Meridian in Greenwich, Piccadilly Circus and the
SHOPPING down Oxford St.  Seeing the suit stores in Savile Row (don't
ask I've just read about it in so many books it was cool to see)...we
also went to the Strand, then Fleet Street to see the publishing
houses and St. Paul's cathedral where you actually have to pay a fee
to go inside and pray.  God bless, here's your receipt.

Then I went to Stonehenge - Steve opted out and I have to say it was
kind of anticlimactic.  I don't really know what I expected from the
rocks, but I was hoping they would do a little more than just sit
there.  It was raining, it was really cold, my hair was disastrous...I
did learn a lot about its history, and it was definitely worth doing
once but I won't be rushing there again anytime soon.
