Green tea has been used in Asia to heal wounds, improve digestion and to maintain good health. The latest research indicates that green tea can help ward off cancer and heart disease and even boost your metabolism.

Green tea is produced from the camellia sinesnis plant, which is dried right after picking, thus better preserving its wonderful polyphenols. Green tea contains the most antioxidant polyphenos (30% to 40 %).A study in Japan involving 18,000 men found that those who regularly drank green tea were 50% less likely to develop stomach or esophageal cancer as those who didn't. At the University of Rochester, N.Y. researchers discovered that green tea helps block a protein that sparks the growth of tumours. Green tea is also good for the heart. Green tea's antioxidant puotient helps block bad cholesterol while increasing good cholesterol. Archives of Internal Medicine also reports a 46% to 65% lower risk of high blood pressure in green tea drinkers.
