Take Care when you get an e-mail promising $ millions in lottery winnings PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 27 September 2006
Organized criminal groups are looking for suckers. They send out millions of e-mails congratulating you on winning 1 million pounds or 2 million dollars. When you get these e-mails, which have different variations, take care as you have been targeted by organized criminal groups.

They are attempting to steal personal information (identity theft) and take your money. Some people have also been killed. The crooks operate using mobile cell telephones. Often they are connected to Nigerians and other organized criminal groups. Do not reply to them as you end up getting several more, using different names and variations.

Millions are targeted and many have lost their identity and life savings. Some have been killed. Take Care and immediately report to the Milton RCMP commercial crime unit.  Senior police contacts advise to ignore them. They are all frauds.

If you did not buy a ticket in a legitimate lottery do not expect to win. You are a target and a potential victim. Inevitably you will be asked for confidential information and up-front fees.
