Wolfe Goodman passed away on November 24, 2006. He was a founding partner of Goodman and Carr a prestigious national law firm. He was one of Canada's best estate and tax planning solicitors. He was called to the Bar in 1949. He was not only a great lawyer but a family man and philanthropist. "Family dinners were fairly formal affairs, " said his daughter. "Until the birth of the first grandchild." she continued" I remember my father [sitting at the head of the seder table] with a baby on his shoulder and a grin from ear to ear". He was a great husband who loved his wife passionately. "He could not live without his wife, " she said. This was a great marriage and a great love story.
Goodman was committed to the Jewish injunction of being responsible for others. He worked for the Canadian Jewish Congress, Jewish Immigration Aid Society and Canadian Institue for the Blind. He was a mentor to young lawyers. He set the example of how a lawyer should live, love and pass to the after life. Good journey! |
