Daughter of privilege addicted to street drugs

Andrea Claire Fraser came from a background of privilege . She had great opportunities and a promising life ahead of her. This week the young 21 year old women and a male friend were arrested  by police. Her parents blamed narcotics which is a growing problem in Canada that now has become a cancer that has entered the upper middle class and the most wealthy families.

The Chief Justice of Alberta stated that the" scourg of crystal methamphetamine had turned a beloved daughter of privilege into a convicted felon hooked on street drugs." Crystal methamphetamine was previously connected with runaways who became addicted and then turned to prostitution to feed their expensive habit.

She now begins a court ordered detox treatment. Drug rebabilitation offers the best hope for recovery yet requires the client to voluntarily come forward and seek treatment. Forced treatment is less successful. It is also important not to stigmatize the person as they must again learn to love themselves and begin the process of self-improvement and renewal. This journey is difficult and may God help her.
