The Greek Orthodox Church suspended a senior bishop  amid claims of clergy fixing the outcome of court trials. Allegations have surfaced that some clergymen have tried to influence or bribe judges to win cases for friends, including suspected drug dealers. These allegations have shocked the political, religious and judicial establishments. The public has been asked to assist the government and to report all priests suspected of such activities. Several judges have been suspended and/or are under investigation.
