U.S. Senate approves revised bailout plan The United States Senate voted this evening, in a 74 to 25 vote,  to approve a revised bailout plan that will cost $700 billion.  The amended legislation includes over $100 billion of tax credits for small business and individuals. The House of Representatives will now vote on the revised bill on Friday . Details...

Afghan Police rape young boys

The Canadian Forces have established a Board of Inquiry to investigate allegations that Afghan police raped young boys and that Canadian troops were ordered not to intervene.  

Military Chaplain Jean Johns came forward to complain about the alleged cover up. A Great Canadian: Karen Michelsen takes us  to the North Pole

Traveling to the North Pole has been a dream for me for many years.  I wanted to travel to the North Pole as a tourist and not as an explorer.  This dream became a reality during International Polar Year 2007-2008.
  
The cheapest and fastest way to travel to the North Pole is to fly.  I traveled with the tour company Polar Adventures.  It organized the North Pole Marathon and North Pole Bike Extreme race.  I competed in both events.  Participants only needed to register in one event.  Many people have been successful in walking the marathon.
